
Carla M. Vaughn, MBA
Executive Director and Founder, Financial Literacy First
As the Executive Director and Founder of Financial Literacy First, Carla holds an MBA in Finance and marketing and graduated with honors. With a strong background in Business Administration, and managing her own Accounting Company, she has been passionate about supporting our youth for years. Her nonprofit has been established since 2018 and has served various charter schools in Aurora, engaged supporting organizations such as Head Start, Adams County Government, Sheridan Library, Metro State and many others.
Carla earned her Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership and Administration in 2020 and this has helped Financial Literacy First serve over 3,645 students and adults in the last few years. With a team of lay teachers and support volunteers Carla continues to help youth adult, improve the the chances of buying power for large purchases, be inclusive, reduce defaults on student debts, create awareness for identity protection and more.
Carla is committed to their mission: We are a nonprofit charity dedicated to educating individuals, including the disadvantaged youth, so that they can make better life decisions. As a member supported organization we do this through programs such as Financial IQ Classes, Power Hours and supporting students with scholarships.
